The prizegiving for the Senior Club Championships was held on Saturday, 26 July 2008. The theme of the evening was "Christmas in July", the club house was suitably decorated and Father Christmas even paid a surprise visit.
Everyone was treated to a variety of delicious potjiekos meals, cooked by Pierre Rossouw, John Flanigan, Peter Zuidema, Mark Roos and Brett Rowbotham. Lance Swingburn supplied a stupendous beerbread, and I'm still looking for that recipe !
Thanks to Liz Walker for oganizing the evening, Jennilee Pinnock for the decorating, Pam Pinnock for helping out with food and a bunch of others who were a great help but whose names I have now forgotten.
Our Golf Day at Milnerton Golf Club on Sunday 18 May 2008 was, once again, well attended. Check out the Gallery for some photos from the event.
Once again a big vote of thanks to the golf day coordinator, Mike Thompson, for his sterling work and organisational skill.
Monthly Braai
The club will, from 1 March 2008, be having a braai after Saturday tennis on the first Saturday of each month.
There are no costs involved. You are requested to bring along your own food, or to purchase meat from the club for the braai. We stock steak, chops and wors at very reasonable prices. The bar will, naturally, be open for the purchase of soft drinks, beers, etc.
This monthly braai is a form of fund-raising for the club as we expect the bar profits to soar due to the number of dedicated drinkers we know. So, come down to the braai, raise a glass in toast, and do your bit to support the club.
