HOT SHOT NEWS

A few news flashes to end the year off:

The seniors beat the juniors again on Monday night. The Juniors tried everything they could to beat the seniors. They even pretended coach Christine was a junior and added her to the team for the last few games BUT TO NO AVAIL. Well done seniors (Ann, Brett, Roland, Ellen, Peter, Johnny, Monica) and better luck next time juniors (Adrian, Steven, Milann, Eddie, Matthew T, Matthew B, Daniel).

A tennis clinic/camp was held on 12 and 13 December. Great turnout. Thank you to all who participated. We, the coaches, hope you had fun and learnt a lot.

Hot Shot Tennis Academy's top 3 junior players for 2011 are as follows:

They all received medals.

Merry Christmas to you all. Be safe in the holidays. See you on the court.
Coaches Paul, Johnny, Christine, Carmen and Anthony.

Junior Ladder

I think there was one challenge since the ladder went out in June, shame on you players!

I will be attending the junior league meeting in September and this will be my list unless I hear from any of you that you don't want to play or that you have challenged and give me the results.

Please note that it is a very short term and you will only play 5 matches (every Saturday morning 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 15 October to 12 November).

Rules of Tennis

WINNING AND LOSING

Losing makes winning worthwhile.
He who makes the fewest mistakes, wins.
He who hits the most winners, often loses.
You are more likely to start talking to your opponent when you are winning.
When you're losing, you are more likely to start talking to yourself.
When you win, it's usually on a back court with no one watching.
When you lose, it's usually in full public view.
If you try to change a losing game, you will lose by even more.
The more you lose, the more you are likely to lose.
Losing is more tiring than winning.
Your tennis elbow, or your bad back, are more likely to come on when you are losing.
Most losses are blamed on the court, the racket, or the weather.
Most wins are credited to your playing skill.
